Tropical Storm Lala, which brought dangerous flooding, strong winds and a massive power outage throughout Hawaii, is beginning to exit the islands Sunday as the eye starts to pull away from Kauai.

Hurricane Lala doused Hawaii with torrential rains and lashed the islands with winds on Sunday as forecasters warned of flooding, mudslides and dangerous surf conditions.

Total rainfall of nearly three feet (one meter) was expected on the higher windward slopes, turning rivers into raging torrents and threatening mudslides.
